Immanuel Lutheran School originated in 1879 as a satellite school of Zion Lutheran Church in Bensenville. It began as a one room school with seventeen children in eight grades. All eight grades were taught by one teacher. In 1893, Immanuel Lutheran Congregation was formulated and it has supported the school ever since with prayers and financial resources. Dedicated pastors, teachers, parents, and members have helped many boys and girls grow in the knowledge of their Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

A full educational program is offered to the children in Preschool through grade eight. The school day begins at 8:00 am and ends at 3:00 pm. In addition to a strong academic program, Immanuel offers opportunities in music, athletics, drama and, when possible, Spanish.

Grades six through eight are departmentalized for the entire curriculum.

The school is maintained for the children of Immanuel Lutheran Church families and any other families who desire Christian training for their children. All students participate in the full religious program. If parents are not members of a Lutheran church, we invite them to attend an adult information class enabling them to become familiar with the teachings their children will learn. All religion classes for the students are a part of the Immanuel Lutheran School curriculum. Therefore, attendance and participation in these classes is required.
